After being the subject of one of her paintings; artist Christy Young purchased the cottage and began a rigorous restoration of this colourful piece of Hope Town history. 

Hope Town now has a new destination arts centre, the first of its kind in the Abacos. The Hummingbird Cottage Art Centre has just opened in the restored Hummingbird Cottage, one of the most charming historic Loyalist cottages in Hope Town. Hummingbird Cottage is a high-end art centre for adult painting workshops and children’s art classes. Throughout the year, the art centre will be exhibiting works by both instructors and “Spotlight Artists”.

(Read More)…]]> The wait is finally over!..the new and much improved new place to go in Hope Town opened up the new pool and swim up bar the other day. The restaurant is scheduled to be opening in the next few weeks and we’re all waiting with anticipation.

If you’re not familiar with the property. The Hope Town Inn and Marina is the new name of what used to be Club Soliel on the western side of the harbour. They have done an amazing job with a complete renovation/replacement of the old structures. The new restaurant/bar stands out from across the harbour and is easily recognized by the tall pink and white gazebo. The pool is stunning with it’s swim up bar and lush tropical landscaping. I’m looking forward to many relaxing days at this place.
